VIRTUAL BON ODORI

Saturday July 11 @ 7:30 pm

Join us on Zoom, from the comfort and safety of your home, for a fun evening of traditional Obon dances. While we can’t gather in the parking lot, we can still be together online.
  • Wear your favorite yukata, kimono or happi coat
  • We’ll dance 4 favorites that you likely already know – Bon Odori Uta, Ichi Tasu Ichi, Tanko Bushi, Pokemon Ondo
  • For each dance, there will be a short introduction, a demonstration of the steps, then dance time
  • 7:00 pm Zoom waiting room opens. Log on early and say hi to your friends
  • 7:30 pm Welcome and invocation by Rev Ron
  • 7:35 pm Let the dancing begin!
  • 8:00 pm To make it authentic, get some popcorn and popsicles and enjoy visiting with others on Zoom

To participate in our VIRTUAL BON ODORI you must be registered.

To reserve a candle, send your name and the name of your loved one to office@mbtchicago.org by JULY 8. Or, call the temple office (312-943-7801). DONATIONS (Dana) are welcome

We hope that those who are able will offer a special donation for Obon. During these extraordinary times, your donation is especially helpful to support the temple. To make a donation visit our updated donation page where you’ll find options for donating online. We thank you for your generosity.
