AN URGENT MESSAGE FROM
MIDWEST BUDDHIST TEMPLE

Suspension of Services and Activities due to COVID-19 virus prevention measures

Dear Members and Friends:

We have made the difficult decision to suspend all services and activities at MBT with immediate effect and until further notice. With COVID-19 now declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization, and with the spread of the virus impacting all aspects of life globally and here at home, we take this decision with everyone’s health and safety at heart.

All scheduled activities are immediately cancelled including Japanese Cinema, Zen Shin Meditation on Wednesdays and Sundays, Sunday Dharma School, and “in-person” Family Service. We will limit entry to MBT premises to critical personnel, including Resident Minister Rev. Ron Miyamura and Office Manager Jesse Zavala, who will be on hand to answer calls and questions.

For anyone facing life changes such as the illness or passing of a loved one, please contact the office or Rev Miyamura who will assist with arrangements.

Although our temple remains physically closed Rev. Miyamura continues to deliver weekly Dharma Talks “virtually”. Follow this link (online services) for information about Rev. Ron’s weekly Podcast and now his Live Streaming talks on our Facebook page.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation and keep you updated of any changes. Decisions to reopen the Temple will be based on global and local guidelines that advise it is safe to do so. In the meantime, we hope all of you remain safe and healthy.

In Gassho,
Midwest Buddhist Temple
